Rebecca rocks, escpecially when she performs live. This year she was not nominated only because the sama team wanted to give others a chance. Truly speaking, there is no Gospel singer here in Mzansi who can compete with her. She is the only gospel singer who is always lined up to perform at Jazz and kwaito festivals and she is always the best performer

oryt, over the years as black ppl we have somewhat made excuses, \'no money\' \'no job\' etc, for not choosing to buy music but rather chose to dup and record frm the radio and most recently, wit the influx of computers n mp3s being the way forward, copying has never been better. but is it still morally justified? cos the difference between now n then is that most of us have jobs and can afford to buy music, esp local material atleast one cd per month!!! or maybe copying has become a social status by which the 1st 1 to get the latest stuff for free and distributes it gets VIP access. Im not saying that i dont copy nor accept music frm friends, no i do, i live in South Africa which is in an endless recession, money is tight sometimes but i feel guilty for if i do not support local artists who do i expect will do so? if we want to see our SAMAs being as much of a big occassion as the emmys then we should start being appreciative to the ppl we hold high as Mzansi\'s gr8 entertainers and stop praising them through pirated material. how much is a locally produced cd...R100!!! buying cds is not the only thing we can do to build our country\'s entertainment industry, we should also develop a culture of going to theatres, yes i know, no 1 wants to spend 2 hours watching ballet thats understandable, but theres more to theatres than dance and musicals, there is something for every1 there, our artists are now in a habit of hosting their concerts and shooting live dvds in theatres whos going to fill up the sits if not us? i know u myt, by now, b thinking that SA music is \'slap-stick\' or bubblegum, ya some do need to polish up a bit but wen i talk of SA music, i do not have arthur, chomee, kelly khumalo nor spokes H in mind, im talking about PRO, HHP, Deep Level, Soulcandi crew, Liquideep, Lira, Zamajobe, Selaelo Selota, Jaziel Brothers, Culoe de Song, GoldFish, The Parlotones, Loyiso, Rhytmic Elements, to mention a few, these are artists who are hard at work to make music that leaves us with smiles on our faces, the kind of music u listen to after a long hard day at work. We can do this, we got the talent, lets stop wasting it
