A famous gospel musician died minutes before a performance during the 16 Days of Activism Against Abuse of Women and Children on Saturday morning.
The incident happened at the Helenskraal Sports Ground near Marble Hall in Limpopo at about 8am.
Limpopo police spokesperson Mohale Ramatseba said Mmadi went on stage and picked up the microphone but collapsed before she could sing.
“She was taken to the nearest clinic but unfortunately died on arrival. The police have opened an inquest docket,” he said.
