In a move set to change the face of a seemingly negative publicity soiled career, iconic Kwaito star Mandoza, real name Mduduzi Tshabalala, has partnered with Bolton Food for Life Foundation to unveil a fund that aims at feeding poor families across the continent.

Mandoza had had a perfect career until two years ago when he was involved in a much publicized car accident that killed two people and drew a lot of criticism from local media.

The partnership will see him become the Ambassador of Bolton Food for Life Foundation, a non-profit organization based in George on the Garden Route. Mandoza will be tasked to garner support, specifically capital, from different sectors in South Africa and other yet to be announced African countries.

Founder of Bolton Food for Life Foundation, Cilla Bolton said “We are pleased that he will assist us in feeding our community, nation and Africa, where an estimated 220 million people go to sleep hungry, of which 13 million South Africans are dying of hunger and starvation.”

Mandoza’s manager, Curwyn Eaton revealed that “Mandoza has always wanted to give back to the community and had been negotiating with Bolton Food for Life Foundation for over a year.”

“We are in the process of structuring our strategy for the project and we have started sending proposals to different organizations.”

Other musicians have also welcomed Mandoza’s endeavors, one such musician is well known singer and songwriter Danny K, who said “You make us very proud of your achievements; you are a true legend Mandoza”

Bolton revealed that struggling families will periodically receive a 400g tin of fully cooked maize meal and meat (Pap or zadza) with a shelf life of up to 3 years.

“We chose zadza because it is the staple diet of the majority of people in our country, and it will be manufactured by a well known South African manufacturer and packed under Government supervision.” She added.

“With the support of Kingswood Golf Estate in George, we will have an official launch to celebrate the wonderful partnership between the foundation and Mandoza in May, but for now, the foundation, Mandoza and the CEO of Kingswood Golf  Estate,Mr Marc Stuyck, is excited to start the ball rolling to assist and feed a  starving continent.”
