YFM disc jockey, Siya Ngwekazi (27) may be joining SABC 1’s weekly music show Live this month, according to DJ Sbu’s website. If that happens, one of the current male presenters of the show will have to step down.
Formerly known as One, Live has grown to become South Africa’s premier music show, attracting millions of music-lovers every Friday night.
T'Bo Touch or Phila?
Sources say Ngwekazi, the former real Siz 'n Scoop presenter, recently had successful talks with SABC and “it’s no longer a case of if he joins but when he joins”. The SABC has not yet made an official announcement but “T’Bo Touch” , who joined Live in 2008, confirmed his departure to The Times yesterday .
New Face
Ngwekazi, has had his finger on the local entertainment industry’s pulse for more than a decade now. Considered one of the hippest celebs in Mzansi today, he has made his mark on radio, TV, fashion and film. Debuting in the fashion world, the Port Elizabeth-born star introduced the popular Ama Kip Kip street wear brand, which he co-owns with Nkosana Modise.
