The Parlotones dominate MK Awards

Last night, viewers of the country's most cutting edge TV channel got to see
SA's most successful band completely dominate the MK Awards.
 
The Parlotones video for "I'll Be There", the uber hit off the platinum
selling album"A World Next Door To Yours", truimphed in three categories:

Beste SFX/Animasie

Beste Serenade

Animator/director Claudio Pavan, whose company Lung Animation has walked a
long road with The Parlotones, was the unsung hero of the hour . In 2008,
the "I'll Be There" video won the Loerie Kraft Award, marking the first time
a music video has won a Loerie. .

The Parlotones put all celebrations on hold however and, displaying the
unmatched work ethic that is the foundation of their success, headed to OR
Tambo Airport to officially kick off their current tour.

The "A World Next Door To Yours" tour is a two month, three continent,
international musical venture that begins in North America. The USA leg
includes the band's first performance in New York City, along with showcases
at the 2009 'South by South West'  music and media Conference (Austin,
Texas) and Canadian Music Week (Toronto). Kahn and the lads then cross the
Atlantic for 14 UK shows with STARSAILOR, who have invited the band to join
them on their current tour.

The Parlotones end off back at home, playing shows in Johannesburg Cape Town
And Durban.
