The University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) Centre for Performing Arts (CPA) will host auditions for candidates who are hoping to be part for the short courses in music during the course of 2013.
The courses on offer include instrumental and vocal studies, instrumental and choral conducting, chamber music and teacher-training in the Suzuki Violin Teaching Method.
The Centre will be opening its doors on 13-16 November 2012 for all the aspiring musicians, and is extending an invitation for them to audition in the following categories:
Auditions for individual tuition
• Strings (violin, viola, cello),
• Woodwinds (flute, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, oboe)
• Brass (trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba), percussion, piano, organ and guitar.
• Classical voice and vocal production.
Auditions for Ensembles
• UWC Choir
• UWC String Quartet
• UWC Jazz Combo
• UWC Big Band
• UWC Symphonic Wind Ensemble
Please note that all auditions will be by appointment only. UWC Centre for the Performing Arts offers bursaries to students who require financial assistance. The bursaries will cover tuition costs only. Successful candidates may request a bursary application form from the UWC Centre for the Performing Arts Project Co-ordinator (details bellow)
