Two of the country's leading pop rock acts are preparing for an unmissable and unique tour of the Cape during this festive season.
Dubbed The Grape Escape Tour, the double bill takes place over 3 days in the Cape Winelands and ends with a show at St Yves (formerly Ignite) in Camps Bay, marking the conclusion of what‚s expected to be a sold-out trek.
It presents the music of two top South African acts with Watershed showcasing songs off its four award-winning albums including 2008's Staring At The Ceiling and Cofield spotlighting the material off The Big Question which has recently been re-released by Universal Music, featuring the hit single "The Things That You Say".
The Grape Escape Tour kicks off on 13 December at Buitenverwachting Wine Estate in Constantia then on to Paarl for the two acts, where they play Rhebokskloof Wine Estate on December 15th and Zevenwacht Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on December 17th.
The final show takes place in Cape Town on December 19th at St Yves in Camps Bay.
Given the time of year the combination of two of the country‚s most award-winning and top-selling acts is much more than simply a music show. Against the backdrop of some of the world‚s most scenic venues, Watershed and Cofield will give Capetonians and national and international visitors the chance to picnic and relax with friends and family whilst listening to worldclass music.
Indeed, Watershed and Cofield Mundi are both strong fixtures on the global music scene with Watershed enjoying significant success in Europe and both acts soon to cement their standing in Canada with an appearance at the upcoming Canadian Music Week Festival early in 2010. Watershed heads straight to SXSW in Austin Texas to continue the invasion.
Watershed fans, in particular, now have the chance to see the group giving a taste of what is to come with the release of their hits compilation in 2010, ŒA Million Faces, 20 hits, 10 years‚. Craig Hinds and his band are also writing several new songs for the new collection and fans may just hear which direction this beloved band is heading at the December shows.
